WHO IS MAXINE A. MONCRIEFFE AKA MAXWANETTE A POETESS?

Maxine A. Moncrieffe aka Maxwanette A Poetess

“I AM MY MOTHER’S CHILD”

Maxine A Moncrieffe, aka Maxwanette A Poetess (1971), was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Jamaican immigrant parents, at Cumberland Hospital. Maxwanette’s mother, Hyacinth Williams-Moncrieffe., was also an RN (Registered Nurse) published poet, activist, and Maxwanette’s first mentor and introduction to the world of poetry (from St. Ann’s, in Discovery Bay, Old Folly). Her father (born in St. James but grew-up in Westmoreland) was a damaging factor in her life, and she saw how his negativity destroyed her Mother, and the lives of everyone he came across…Maxwanette was not unscathed. Born with a myriad of medical & physical disabilities, she excelled in academia. Reading, writing/literature, words, poetry, dance, music & art (although terrible at drawing & painting, she values and knows beautiful art when she sees it) being her favorite areas. She is also a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, friend, and a lover of life.

Maxine/Maxwanette was reading at a high school level by the age of three, and wrote her first Haiku, by the time she was five; she simply never stopped writing poetry. At the age of twelve, she participated in her mother’s poetry recital and recited one of her mother’s poems called “The Propeller,” in Brooklyn, New York at “The Muse” (Bedford Stuyvesant – Brooklyn, New York USA).

Maxine/Maxwanette went on to enter and win poetry, writing, reading, and literature awards and certificates. She has had her poem “The Little Things”, published in Our Times Newspaper, in Jamaica Queens, New York (2015), “Alone Again”, “One Step Over Please”, “As I Rise To Face The New Day”, “Freedom”, and “Cleaning-Up”, in Soul Vomit, Domestic Violence Aftermath (2014), “Where Have All The People Gone?”, in The National Library of Poetry (1987) & in The World of Poetry (1990), and “War…Why?”, in the World of Poetry (1987).

Maxine/Maxwanette, is also the business owner of, “P.L.O.T.S. ~PROOFING & PROMOTING SERVICES, LLC” (based in Dallas, GA – relocated to Kissimmee, FL, October 2022 returned to Georgia due to natural disaster). While in Florida, she became a Notary there as well and started a DBA “Cyber Clerical Associates, LLC,” (Kissimmee, FL).

Some of the services provided are Notary, Proofreading, Editing, Typing, Creating Letters, Documents, Flyers, General Resumés, Cover Letters, Job Search Assistance, Logo Creating, Self-Publisher w/Amazon KDP, & More!

On September 28th, 2022, Maxine/Maxwanette, and her sister Denise, were affected drastically by Hurricane Ian, in Kissimmee, Florida. They were left flooded out, unable to swim, through snake & alligator (3 alligators to be exact; 6ft, 4ft, & 8ft… the 8ft alligator was located a block away from where Maxine & her sister were, having to pass them to get there) & homeless for 40 days & 40 nights. With help from The Most High, The Ancestors, their Mother (Hyacinth Williams-Moncrieffe), The Creatives – sent donations & care packages, their Prayer Team, and their beloved Family Members that rescued them…Are re-establishing themselves in the state of Georgia. She’s thankful, grateful, and blessed.

Maxine/Maxwanette, feels that there is no greater thing than, loving & assisting others. She’s been in the social services& human resources arena, for most of her life & career, and is always helping out others in her communities. When asked why she is so dedicated, she responded, “I had a rough upbringing & life. I made many mistakes along the way, and learned the hard way, with many pains, losses, & sacrifices. But I learned, to NEVER give-up. How I give back & “try to be the change I want to see in the world”, is by loving & helping others. It comes back to you in ways, you simply never fathom. No one is perfect & we can sometimes be our own issue. Change, knowledge, getting to know yourself, your roots, who you are, and then loving YOU no matter what? Lol! That takes time. But once you get it? Then you change & try to share the positivity of it, while all the time, never giving up on yourself. It’s not always easy & we need one another in this world, to be better existences of who we are. I don’t ever want to stop changing. One of the many things I love about Creativity, is that it’s CHANGE at its highest levels, for it’s limitless. Just stop & think for a second…Imagine the changes one goes through, when creating something, be it a poem, song, painting, dance, cooking, etc. Watch a caterpillar’s journey to become a butterfly, to the creation of life, from the womb to the arms of continuation…It’s Creativity in its natural element. To me? We’ve forgotten the Creatives we all are…We create life’s continuum by the mere exchange of inhaling & exhaling, when we breathe. If we only could see & remember how wonderful we are. I like to think my magazine & social media platforms remind us of that.”

She also showcases her work involving “Poetry, Language Of The Soul”, and that of others on her social media sites (Facebook, WordPress, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and allpoetry.com).

👀WHA-A-A-T👀???
Yes, she often doesn’t charge for her services. She helps, because it’s her way of giving back to Humanity. She learned, when making her mistakes in life & going through struggles, how valuable it was, if 1 person, would take the time to say something, and help another…Life may not be so hard. So, while holding professional positions, she always volunteered her services in her family and communities, throughout her life.

As 2023 draws near, Maxine/Maxwanette, looks forward to monetizing her services in the new year, while still being a resourceful bridge to the Global Creative Community. She goes forward with the idea of possibly operating as a non-profit, which would enable her to help more people on a broader scale. She feels with her team & proper sponsorship, anything is possible.
